Adeeba Ahmed
Radiant Hearts Project Lead
Adeeba set up and leads The Hub Club Sunday school in the UK. She led the implementation of the Ghazali Children’s Project at The Hub Club, which has been widely recognised as a model pilot school for the programme.
Her love for the books of Imam Al Ghazali reaches back to her own childhood where her parents taught her from the previous translations of the Ihya.
Adeeba graduated as a medical doctor from the University of Cambridge and has a PhD from the University of Birmingham, UK. She is a hospital consultant in Endocrinology and Diabetes and lives in the UK.
Dr Anika Arshad
Academic Lead & Parent Tutor
Ustadha Dr Anika Arshad is a teacher and student of knowledge, and a dentist by profession. She is the main tutor of The Arabic Journey, an online course to teach Quranic Arabic. A member of the British Board of Scholars and Imams, as well as on the advisory committee of the Solihull Hub, Ustaadha Anika currently resides with her husband and son in Solihull.
She graduated from the Sacred Texts Course obtaining Ijaza Aaama (teaching licences) to teach various Islamic Sciences. She has completed a detailed study of Imam al Ghazali’s Ihya Ulum Uddin, Islamic Metaphysics, Aqeeda, The Names of Allah amongst other subjects.
“I developed and taught several lectures and seminars on the Inner Dimensions of Islamic Worship based on Imam Ghazali’s Ihya Ulum Uddin. So when the Radiant Hearts Project was being launched, I considered it an honour to be involved. It is a curriculum based on the teachings of the Quran and the Sunnah of the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him), as taught by Imam Ghazali. It truly has the potential to transform spiritual learning and development of both children and adults.”
Afifa Tufail
Children’s Tutor
Ustadah Afifa is a specialist teacher of English and a tutor of the Hub Club Ghazali Project with a focus on the age 7 – 12 curriculum.
“A secondary English teacher for a quarter of a century and lately a mum of young children, I have always been immersed in education. Involved in The Hub Club Ghazali project since its inception, I have learnt so much myself Alhamdulilah as we have worked through the first few amazing books from Fons Vitae. It has been a genuine honour to work with esteemed and learned colleagues and to see the wonderful spiritual development of the young Hub Clubbers. Now in the Radiant Hearts Project we are again united to spread the very precious message of our faith to a new generation of pure souls Insha-Allah. May Allah make this a source of blessing for us all.”
Mohammad Isaaq
Children’s Tutor
Ustadh Mohammed Isaaq has been a teacher of the Hub Club Ghazali Project since its inception focusing on older children and teens.
He is the founder and principal instructor at Claritas Universal and the Knowing Yourself personal development programmes. He graduated in Engineering, and completed his Postgraduate studies in Education, fulfilling his passion to become a Mathematics teacher. He furthered his education in various sciences including branches of philosophy, theology and language studies in Jordan and Yemen, and studied with the college of Medicine and Healing Arts furthering his specialism of behavioural intelligence through the science of the temperaments. Mohammed has also led and delivered a number of successful youth projects at a local and national level in the UK.
Ustadh Adil Abbasi
Children’s Tutor
Ustad Adil is a teacher at the Hub Club Sunday School teaching from the Ghazali syllabus and as well as Islamic Studies. He is also a member of the Deen Central steering committee and is responsible for dawah and outreach projects. He has studied the traditional Islamic sciences from local UK scholars as well as from visiting scholars from the middle east. He is a qualified lawyer by profession but has spent much of the last 10 years involved in international trade in the Hong Kong region, where he also taught Islamic sciences and setup dawah projects.
Nazia Hanif
Children’s Tutor
Ustadah Nazia graduated in Applied Islamic Studies and is a specialist teacher of Religious Studies (Secondary), as well as completing her studies to become a qualified counsellor. Working for the past 5 years with young people as the Director of New Roots and Open Circle. Nazia conducts classes, holiday clubs and weekly youth groups focusing on allowing children to experience and enjoy Islam in a way that is easily practiced in the modern world.
Nisreen Shakalli
Children’s Tutor
Ustadah Nisreen is a Speech and Language Therapist and parent advisor, with a Masters Degree in Speech Difficulties.
Nisreen memorised the Holy Qur’an when she was just 13 years old. She has several years of specialist experience in teaching children and adults, both native Arabic speakers and non-Arabic speakers Qur’an (tilawa, tajweed and tafseer). She is a teacher of Qur’an and Islamic Studies and at The Hub Club, Solihull. She has worked as a speech and language therapist in Saudia Arabia and then the UK for several years, as well as a parent advisor at Snap Cymru in Cardiff.
Lubna Hoque
Children’s Tutor
Ustadah Lubna is mum of 4 and is a Graphic designer. She studied Islam for 7yrs (Alimah program) and has been teaching Islamic education to adults and children of all ages since 2013.
Lubna joined the Ghazali Children’s project around 4yrs ago. Along with teaching the Ghazali project in Dubai, she has been helped with the curriculum development for the Children’s Book of Prayer, Fasting and Hajj. She specialises in educating and counselling teens.
Umm Hatim
Children's Tutor
Umm Hatim is a graduate of Dar al Zahra in Tarim. This is where she obtained her ijaza in Quran. She is also a Hafidha of Quran.
She began her studies in Konya where she memorised half of the Quran in the method of Ottomans and then completed it in its entirety in Yemen where she spent 5 years studying the sacred sciences.
She is a munshida and duff instructor and teaches various levels online to women and children.
She is currently a teacher of Quran and Tajwid at The Hub, Solihull and teaches theology, the Arabic language and Fiqh at the Ihya Academy.
Dima Sabouni
Children's Tutor
Dima is a mother of three children, a graduate in English Literature.
She has studied sacred knowledge for many years and is a specialist in Seerah and Tafseer. Dima has been a teacher of Quranic sciences for children for 15 years. She also has a facebook page from where she delivers live sessions the seerah of our beloved Prophet (peace be upon him) .

Ustadh Wajid Hussain
Parent Tutor
Wajid Hussain completed memorizing the Quran in 2008 and then spent the next 7 years studying Dars e Nizami part-time under various prominent scholars of Birmingham. During this period he also completed a Bsc in Environmental GeoScience, a year studying Arabic abroad, followed by a PGCE In Geography, and then worked as a full time secondary teacher for the following years. In 2015 Wajid decided to further his interests in the Sacred Sciences and so, embarked on a 5 year journey, in which he spent a year in Konya, under the tutelage of the erudite Scholar Shaykh Salih alGhursi where he studied grammar, logic, jurisprudence and Quranic exegesis. He then spent the next four years in the company of the Haba’ib of Tarim at Dar ul Mustafa, Yemen, wherein he studied various books from the Dar curriculum, with a particular focus on the Sciences of the Quran. He has license to teach in a number of Islamic disciplines.
Shaykh Sjaad Hussain
Academic Lead and Parent tutor
Sjaad Hussain was born and raised in England and began his Islamic education in Damascus. After studying the Arabic language, he continued his learning incorporating the sacred sciences under the tutelage of Shaykh Rasul Baksh Sa’eedi. Over a period of 9 years, he studied many of the major sciences and gained teaching licenses (Ijazat) in them. He was also taught by numerous scholars including Shaykh Muhammad al-Yaqoubi, Shaykh Muhammad Jum’ua, Shaykh ‘Ala-Uddin al-Kurdi and Shaykh Yasser Qureshi.
He is the co-founder of the Sacred Texts Syllabus and the Path to Salvation Diploma in Classical Islamic Studies. He currently teaches at the Sacred Texts Syllabus and is scholar in residence at Deen Central. He is also pursuing studies in Advanced Islamic Theology and Western Philosophy as well as working on several academic works in Arabic and English.
Played a key role in the set up of the Radiant Hearts project.
Rahat Karim
Children’s Tutor
Ustadah Rahat is a retired teacher who has always had a passion for teaching Islam and has run the childrens‘ ‘Jannah Club’ for several years. She has taught the Ghazali Children’s Project to under 11s at the Hub Club, Solihull since its inception.
“It is a privilege to play a small part in teaching and nurturing of younger children. The Ghazali project books help to promote positive character development, and a beautiful inner spirituality which leads to outer remembrance, worship and closeness to Allah, through His words and the Sunnah of our beloved Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him). We learn how we can be the best of ourselves as we serve others and learn to become caretakers of our world and everything in it.”
